According to its by-laws, Transverses is an association for reflection, information and action in the field of North-South-Tourism.
The organisation is working on issues related to tourism in relation with the South.
Transverses is member of the French network RITIMO (Réseau d'Information sur le Tiers Monde) and of the European network TEN (Tourism Ecumenical European Network).
Transverses publishes the quarterly magazine "Transverses-Info".
Transverses participates in numerous campaigns and conferences together with Third-World action-groups, universities and the "Grandes Écoles". Transverses is also involved in organising campaigns raising the awareness for the negative impacts of tourism on the local communities.
