"respect" promotes sustainability in tourism and to make the travellers aware of the fact that tourism could easily have negative impacts on the visited countries if we didn't act with sufficient care and responsibility regarding the needs of local inhabitants, nature and culture.

• respect generally addresses the public as a whole and in particular travellers, the travel industry as well as local Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs). Its goal is to improve the cultural understanding among people and to convey different aspects of tourism to the public. The aspect of sustainability within the fields of tourism represents a great chance for developing countries.
• respect co-operates with the tourism industry such as with airlines and tourism experts,
• respect keeps close contact to a variety of media and journalists in order to make own projects public and thereby involve Austrians in discussions about sustainability and responsibility in tourism.
