Annual Report 2008 / 2009
The current international economic crisis has caused us to lose sight of the lives of people living in the world's poorer countries. This in turn has created even greater hardship for them. Examples of this year annual report show how deeply our lives and our economies impact the lives and livelihoods of people in other parts of the world.

Title

As the EU continues to subsidize the export of agricultural products, for example, more and more poultry farmers in West Africa continue to lose their livelihoods.

Many of China’s workers suffer work-related accidents and injuries because their workplaces – factories outfitted to produce goods for the global market as cheaply as possible – fail to provide sufficient occupational safety programs.

The peoples of Peru continue to receive less than their fair share of the profits won from the continued exploitation of the country’s coveted mineral resources*.
