Development policy commitment: The campaign "Justice now"

EED has pledged to draw attention to the connections between local and global action and advocate responsible and principled policy-making.
Industrialised countries finance agricultural projects but at the same time shut out Southern countries from entering their markets. They bemoan the effects of climate change on the poor but refuse to commit to sustained changes in their own energy policies. And they are all too keen on emptying the coffers of poor countries, pressuring them to repay their debts at all costs. These kinds of contradictions, which are pervasive in today's policy-making, stand in the way of true development.
In working against this trend, EED is in active dialogue on issues of development policy with various organisations and players in the political arena, and through its lobbying activities gives voice to the interests of our partners in the South. EED conducts national-level and international campaigns together with its partners in both the North and the South.
