It is opened by Ahmed Djoghlaf, Executive Secretary of the CBD. The UN secretary asks sponsorship of the industry to the "Green Wave" campaign and invites business and industry – probably in face of the notoriously tight coffers of the Convention - explicitly as "part of the solution." What follows is an event, that captivates by the simplicity of the ideas of its protagonists.
