Learning from One Another

EED assists partner organisations in their programmes through secondment of personnel, capacity building, and human resources development.

Personnel secondment

Development service contracts normally cover a period of three years, though extensions and follow-up contracts are possible. Further EED programmes in the field of personnel include:

  • peace building and conflict management;
  • election monitoring and human rights monitoring;
  • a reintegration programme for professionals from countries of the South who return to their home countries after studies in Germany;
  • the secondment of personnel in the field of emergency aid;
  • cooperation programmes with mission societies in Germany.

This pdf leaflet is a concise summary of the requirements and procedures of the EED personnel services.

Scholarships

EED awards scholarships to young professionals from developing countries with relevant experience, enabling them to take part in postgraduate courses in Germany, other European countries and developing countries. Candidates are nominated by churches, national Christian councils, church related universities and colleges or non-government organisations. EED gives further support to the scholarship-holders by means of seminars and re-integration assistance.

Please download this leaflet with a brief summary of the principles of the EED scholarship programme.
